Privacy
Short version: designing happens in your browser. We only get your email address if you ask for the file, and we use it to send you the file.
Who is responsible
castmyname, a small independent project based in Germany. To reach us, reply to any email you've had from us.
Visiting the site
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). When you load a page, Cloudflare's servers process your IP address and technical details of the request, such as browser and time, to deliver the page and protect it from attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
We count visits with Plausible Analytics, running on a server we control. It sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses or other personal data: it only keeps totals, such as how many people visited, from which country and website, and how many asked for a file. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing whether the site is useful (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
We don't use cookies or advertising trackers, and we don't load fonts or scripts from other companies.
Designing a necklace
The name you type and the lettering and metal you pick stay in your browser. The drawing and the 3D file are made there too. None of it is sent to us while you design. The links in our email contain your design in the web address, so when you open one, it's part of the page request described above.
Asking for the file
When you ask for the 3D file, we receive your email address and your design (the name, lettering and metal) and email you the file. The legal basis is that you asked us for it (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
We send the email through Resend, Inc. (USA), which processes your email address and the message on our behalf and keeps a delivery log for a limited time.
To keep bots from using the form, the dialog runs Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser for signs of automation (it processes your IP address and technical details of your browser and device). It only loads once you open the dialog. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in preventing abuse (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
"Tell me when you can make it for me"
Only if you tick this box, we keep your email address on a list in Resend and write to you once, when we can make the necklace for you. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by replying to one of our emails or using the unsubscribe link in that email, and we'll delete you from the list.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and get a copy of it (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Reply to any of our emails for any of these. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one in your federal state.
